I almost believed Google! Contrary to the information on Google, the bookstore/post office is NOT closed, neither temporarily nor permanently. I was just there. (10/10/22)

I'm so glad that Ms. Hohmann and her bookstore exist in Bleckede! She's truly dedicated to her profession. This is evident in the way she treats customers, the selection available on-site, her book presentations, and so on.

Hohmann Bookstore has a new owner as of October 1, 2022. Ms. Hohmann handed the shop over to Ms. Candan, and the bookstore hasn't closed a single day! The opening hours are: Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. I wish Ms. Candan and her team much success; the change of ownership has been immediately noticeable. Great team! I'll be back soon!

The water temperature is always at least 23 degrees Celsius. The children's pool is very good. The diving tower is unfortunately only 3 meters high, but it's also very good. There's ample sunbathing lawn and shady spots. The lifeguards are excellent. 5 stars all around.

Need a book? Go here. The owner always finds something in their good selection, or orders it for next-day delivery. Out of print? No problem, they'll try to order it through an antiquarian bookseller. I still order some of my books here because of the excellent service, despite being hundreds of kilometers away. They also have a good selection of stationery and writing supplies.

To my great delight, there's also a post office there where you can easily drop off even more complicated packages, like "international parcels," which is by no means the norm, as I've experienced several times at Edeka Bahrendorf. It's also great that they have everything you might need for the office. Okay, enough praise for now. I've never bought a book there before, but I'm quite sure it will be a pleasure. And what hasn't happened yet, might still happen ;)
